WHAT ARE SCROTAL ANGIOKERATOMAS?

Scrotal angiokeratomas are small, non-cancerous skin growths that appear as red or blue bumps on the scrotum. They are formed by a collection of blood vessels near the surface of the skin. Many men seek evaluation of this common condition due concerns about their appearance and occasional bleeding.

Once a patient has decided to go forward with the procedure our concierge will help schedule the procedure and arrange for financing if necessary. The procedure is performed in the comfort of our beautiful, private office in Coral Gables. Patients are offered the option of nitrous oxide during the procedure to achieve maximal comfort.

The entire procedure takes approximately 10-20 minutes. Treated areas are dressed with an antibacterial cream. After a period of observation patients may drive themselves home following the procedure.

SCROTAL ANGIOKERATOMA TREATMENT RECOVERY

Following the procedure patients should plan to return home and spend the day relaxing with reduced activity. Mild pain can be managed in most cases with acetaminophen and ibuprofen. Patients may resume daily showers one day after surgery, taking care to avoid directly scrubbing the scrotum.

It is essential that patients avoid submerging their treated areas under water until cleared by our surgeons. This means no baths or swimming while recovering.
